This Dunham Fund grant to the Aurora Public Library Foundation names the John C. Dunham Atrium of the Richard and Gina Santori Public Library of Aurora. The grant will also provide the Dream Catcher, a visionary sculpture combining art and science technologies.
The sculpture, created by John Clark and Jerome Savage, will hang in the two-story atrium and will represent the transition of the printed word to the information highway. This inspirational element celebrates literacy and learning and will not only create a downtown destination site, but will also support educators in furthering the study of science, technology, engineering, art and math! The grant also provides for the acquisition of additional artwork that captures today’s modern and technological world. The Art of Technology competition will be open to artists of all ages. The competition guidelines will be on the public library’s website in early September 2014.
