Friends of Aurora After-School Programs (FAAP) will host 25 week one-on-one Reading Mentor Programs at Hall and McCleery Elementary Schools in Aurora, provided at no cost to the families or schools to support struggling second grade students learning to read and teachers with students at a high risk for reading failure during the 2018-19 school year.
Results over 15 years:
FAAP also plans to add a new reading program at Benavides STEAM Academy, expand Family Library Nights at the Santori Aurora Public Library, and continue their summer reading programs. Altogether, these programs will reach over 1,400 students in the community. The Dunham Fund is proud to support FAAP’s mission of providing cost-free literacy, mentoring and education services for Aurora students.
