This Dunham Fund grant will support the presentation of Joseph Corporation’s new Financial Fitness Program, initially targeting elementary school parents and high school seniors. Precipitated by the current home foreclosure crisis, this JoCo program has been developed, in partnership with parent advocacy groups and local Junior Achievement programs, as an eight-week seminar to be presented in multiple locations educating the community regarding building credit and how to work with lenders, attorney’s and home inspectors.
The program will also include sessions on homeownership vs. renting, insurance, checking and saving accounts, debit cards and how to save and invest for the future. Joseph Corporation of Illinois, Inc. is a not-for-profit community housing development organization dedicated to empowering individuals, stabilizing families and revitalizing neighborhoods through a variety of economic and social initiatives.
