Wendy Hirsch, President, and the entire Dunham Fund Board welcome Lindsay Cochrane as their new Program Director on May 1st. With over 10 years’ experience at the Robert R. McCormick Foundation and recently a part of Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s foundation, Lindsay will bring extensive experience to this newly created role.
Lindsay led efforts to build a strong system of early care and education in Illinois, ensuring that the most vulnerable children succeed through school, college, and life. Through this work, Lindsay successfully developed and sustained relationships with grantees, and assisted them in developing, implementing, and evaluating their grant strategies. She worked with the community and state-wide leaders to build a system of well-prepared teachers and administrators. She also supported programs to help educate and empower parents and families to be more informed and engaged in their children’s education. Lindsay’s efforts helped to promote equitable outcomes and the success of all students throughout Illinois.
She has unique insight into the education field as her husband Brandon, is a Director of Special Education for a Chicago area school district. Lindsay can see that by utilizing early education strategies promoted by McCormick Foundation, parent engagement works. She has incorporated what she has learned into everyday interaction with her six-year old son and 2-year old daughter.
“With the right start in life and the support of a positive educational experience in a strong community, all children can reach their full potential and succeed in school and life.”
— Lindsay Cochrane
